Description of the Unit:
The Forensic Psychology Unit deals particularly with students who are enrolled on the Master's degree course in Psychology. Forensic psychology is barely addressed in undergraduate degree programmes. However, students have the opportunity to discover this discipline during the 3rd year of the Bachelor degree programme.
Forensic psychology focuses on different criminal populations that may be encountered in various environments, such as young offender institutions, prisons and social welfare establishments. We study the criminal characteristics, the risk of reoffending and the psychopathological characteristics of these offenders. Our discipline is at the heart of a very specific research axis, which will be explained on another page of the Unit's website.
Forensic psychology is also well integrated into projects focusing on psycho-legal expertise. Our Unit offers various courses that introduce this discipline to allow students to be aware of and make a contribution to this expert field.
