UMONS has different videoconferencing solutions that can be used in teaching.
A web-based videoconferencing service has been set up at UMONS. It has been integrated into the teaching platform and is available to any teacher with an online course (BigBlueButtonBN activity). It allows for the organisation of distance courses taught online and live via a browser (which have both Flash and Java). A session can accommodate about 25 participants connected with webcams and microphones and does not require video conferencing software installation.

There is a room equipped with a Polycom system at the Warocqué site (Wa.206PVisio). Teachers can book this room as a clasroom and communicate with up to 3 IP videoconferencing systems. Our system address is 193.190.193.36. The contact person for user support is Claudio Murgia (Tel.: +32 (0) 65 37 30 85). This room can comfortably hold approximately 20 participants.
If a lesson is taught remotely, there is another room available for this purpose at the Boulevard Dolez site. It is equipped with a simple computer, webcam, microphone and public IP address. The contact person for user support is Rudy Potdevin (Tel.: +32 (0) 65 37 32 32).
In both cases, communication can only be established with compatible videoconferencing systems (H.323) with public IP addresses.
