Higher Education Examining Board of the French Community of Belgium

Access to examinations offered by the Higher Education Examining Board of the French Community of Belgium is limited to those who satisfy conditions of access to studies but, for objective reasons appreciated by the board alone, who cannot follow the regular teaching activities of the course.

Students who are allowed to present the examinations for a year’s study before this board do not have the status of 'regular' students.

Only studies leading to the acquisition of undergraduate or postgraduate degree programmes may be presented before the Higher Education Examining Board of the French Community of Belgium.

Students who have been registered in the same year of the same course for 2 consecutive academic years, either in a university or with the Higher Education Examining Board of the French Community of Belgium, may not register for the same examinations until a further 3 academic years have passed.

Students whose cases have been presented before the Examining Board may only be reconsidered after further registration.

Registration expenses can be found on this page.

Periods for registration with the Higher Education Examining Board of the French Community of Belgium are as follows:

  • For the 1st examination session: Before 30th November
  • For the examination resit period: Between 15th June and 15th July

Before registering, students must deposit the following documents at the secretariat of the faculty concerned for it to be considered by the Board:

  • Offical documentation which states that is it impossible to follow the standard registration procedure in a university
  • Offical documentation which outlines the students' activities during the preceding five years
  • Offical documentation which attests to the qualificiations obtained for access to the university studies concerned
  • A photocopy of both sides of the students' identity card or passport

The Board’s decision will be sent to the Registration Office by the Faculty Secretariat.
