Opening Times

Monday to Friday of 8:30 to 17:00

July-August :

- From the 4th July to the 26th August the library opening times will be from 8:30 to 12:00 and from 13:30 to 17:00

- The library will be closed from Monday 25th July to Friday 29th July

 

 

Collection

Formerly the Library of Jemappes' Central School (1797-1802), the Central Library was then Mons' official Public Library from 1804 to 1966. In 1966 it became an academic library and houses the following collections:

• modern history
• local history: monographs, booklets and periodicals relating to Mons and Hainaut (Belgian and French) - the documents of this collection can only be consulted on site
• Rare and Ancient Collections
