The Laboratory of Metabolic and Molecular Biochemistry (LBMM) carries out activities relating both to fundamental research on cell signaling and the regulation of gene expression as well as to integrated research aimed at understanding the metabolic and molecular adaptations of diseases. kidney and muscle, also involving translational studies directly linked to the clinic. This approach makes it possible to acquire a global and integrated vision of the cellular mechanisms involved in the pathologies studied and thus to develop innovative therapeutic strategies. The techniques used combine functional genomics, biochemistry and bioenergetics, molecular biology and physiopathology. The laboratory has various in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo models.
In addition, our research is carried out within the Institute for Health Sciences and Technologies, which brings together more than 20 research laboratories. Within this institute, the LBMM is a member of the “OrganCrosstalk” group and therefore collaborates with other researchers and clinical departments. The LBMM receives funding from regional, national and international organizations.
